Founder editor of publications like 'Bela' and 'Nagarika';
Chief Editor, 'Mukti Mandap', 'Kranti Dhara' and 'Purbasa'
(daily); Member, editorial boards of five publications;
Received a large number of pretigious literary awards -
including Sahitya Setu and Rupa Lekha from West Bengal
(only Oriya to have received) `Utkal Bhusan' and Orissa
Sahitya Academy Award, 1993 for the poetry book `Dekhahle
Kahibi se Katha'; his lyrics have been selected for film
and music; three research scholars have been awarded
Doctrate on his poetry; leader of Abadhuta Group of rebel
poets in Oriya Literature; his writings have been translated
into other Indian and international languages and his poems
have been published in international journals of poetry;
recently awarded Central Hindi Academy Award (Fakir Mohan
Senapati Award), 1998; most of his poetry is also included
in the syllabus from plus two level to post-graduation level
in Orissa

Meditation in China, 1981; participated at Sheelsburg
(Switzerland) in Seminar on the theory of Absolute
Immortality, 1981 and 1984; attended (i) an International
Conference on Peace and Education and Values, Taiwan, 1991;
(ii) Conference on World Peace and Humanity, Hiroshima
(Japan), 1991; (iii) Conference on "The Challenge of
Ideological Vaccum", Oxford (U.K.), 1991 and was conferred
Messenger of Peace (Shantidoot) Award; (iv) International
Conference in Dacca and Chittagong (Bangladesh), 1992;
(v) International Colloqiums at Kathmandu (Nepal), 1991,
Denapasar, Bali (Indonesia), 1992 on "The Problems of
Violence", and European Parliament, Paris on "Towards a
Democratic New World Order through Regional Community of
Nations"; and (vi) World Social Workers' Conference,
Colombo (Sri Lanka) and delivered a speech on "East meets
the West" and was also conferred with a gold medal, 1994;
conferred International-level "Men of the year Award",
U.S.A.; felicitated by Morocco Government with gold medal
